Privacy Policy
FreshNext ("the app," "we," "us," or "our") is a produce-seasonality app published by Deep Glacier Labs. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app does and does not handle, and how we treat it.
FreshNext is offered in two tiers, and they are very different from a privacy standpoint: Free is fully anonymous and offline, while Pro is an optional paid subscription that uses Google Sign-In so purchases can be restored across devices.
If you never upgrade to Pro, nothing in the Pro sections below applies to you, and the app collects nothing about you at all.
Free
Fully anonymous and offline. No account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no data ever leaves your device.
Pro
Optional paid subscription. Google Sign-In and a minimal subscription record are used only to purchase and restore Pro across your devices.
1. Free tier - what we collect: nothing
When you use FreshNext without subscribing to Pro, we do not require or offer an account, ask you to sign in, use analytics, advertising, tracking, or any third-party measurement, or transmit your data to us or anyone else. The free app works offline.
Everything you do stays on your device, including your watchlist, the ZIP code or location you enter to calculate seasonality for your region, and your notification preferences. Reminders are scheduled and delivered locally by your device and are not sent through our servers.
This information lives in your device's local app storage. You can erase all of it at any time by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app.
FreshNext does not access your camera roll, photos, contacts, precise GPS location, microphone, or files, and does not collect them.
2. Pro tier - what we collect when you subscribe
Upgrading to FreshNext Pro, an auto-renewing subscription, is entirely optional. If you choose to upgrade or restore an existing subscription, the following applies.
2.1 Google Sign-In
To identify your subscription so it follows you across devices, Pro uses Google Sign-In. When you sign in, we receive from Google your name, email address, and Google account identifier. We use this solely to associate your Pro subscription with you. Free users are never asked to sign in.
2.2 Subscription record
We store a small record of your entitlement in our cloud database, Google Firebase Firestore, tied to your Google account ID. It contains only what is needed to recognize your subscription, such as your account ID, whether Pro is active, the product identifier, and a timestamp.
We do not store your watchlist, ZIP code, or app activity in the cloud. Those remain on your device even for Pro users.
2.3 Purchase information
Your subscription purchase, billing, renewal, and cancellation are handled by Google Play and by our payment and entitlement provider, RevenueCat. Through them we receive the status of your subscription, such as active, expired, or cancelled, and a purchase identifier.
We never receive or store your credit-card number or full payment details. Those are handled directly by Google Play.
3. Third-party services (Pro only)
For Pro subscribers, FreshNext relies on Google Firebase Authentication for Google Sign-In and identity, Google Firebase Firestore for the minimal subscription record described above, Google Play Billing for subscription payments and renewals, and RevenueCat for purchase validation and subscription entitlement management.
These providers process the limited data described in this policy only to make the Pro subscription work. The free tier uses none of them.
4. How we use information
We use the limited Pro information described above only to provide and restore your Pro subscription across your devices, confirm whether your subscription is active, and provide customer support if you contact us.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not build profiles about you.
5. We do not sell or share your data
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing or advertising. The only sharing that occurs is with the service providers listed in Section 3, strictly to operate the subscription.
6. Data retention
Free tier: nothing is retained by us, because nothing is collected. Your on-device data persists only until you clear the app's data or uninstall it.
Pro tier: we retain your subscription record for as long as you have an account or an active subscription. If you ask us to delete your account, or you stop using Pro and request deletion, we remove your subscription record.
7. Data security
Information handled for Pro subscribers is transmitted over encrypted connections, HTTPS/TLS, and stored with our providers' standard security protections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we limit what we collect to the minimum needed to run the subscription.
8. Your rights and choices
Stay anonymous by not upgrading to Pro. The free app collects nothing.
To access or delete your Pro data, email us to request access to, or deletion of, the subscription record associated with your Google account. You can also sign out within the app at any time.
You can manage or cancel Pro anytime in your Google Play account under Play Store Subscriptions. Cancellation stops future renewals; existing Play refund policies apply.
To erase on-device data, clear the app's storage or uninstall FreshNext to remove your watchlist, location, and preferences from your device.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. We honor applicable requests; contact us to exercise them.
9. Children's privacy
FreshNext is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information through Pro sign-in, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide notice in the app or on this page. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
